Our second port of call on the Hawaiian cruise my husband won in a contest (see previous posts) was the island of Kauai. We rented a car and drove from the harbor at Lihue to the National Tropical Botanical Gardens. As we waited for the tram to arrive for our tour, we wandered around the visitors center. I took this photo of a plumeria blossom suspended in mid-air by spiderwebs.

We have some plumerias in our garden; the other name for them is frangipani. Five of them made it through the winter, and one has a big seed pod on it, so we'll be planting more this year.

Interesting how the bloom is suspended....Kauia is my very favorite place on earth...
Robin - How did you catch the flower in mid-air? Did you have someone throw it and snap a shot? Great effect!
Robin - I had to drop by for my daily dose of viewing some of your beautiful pic's from your trip. How did you do that? It's Magic...Nice Photo my friend.
Robin, I love cruises...it's been years since I went on one and maybe time to think about another. You captured that shot at just the right second...it's lovely.

I am so jealous. Welcome back!
